A seasoned financial advisor visited our office a few weeks ago with his mother. He shared with me an insightful perspective on our national debt. Consequently, I found it enlightening and thought I'd share it with you.
Did you know the national debt has hit $16,432,706,000,000.00?The financial advisor said most clients cannot comprehend the enormity of our $16 trillion national debt. It simply exceeds their frames of reference, let alone their imaginations. Consequently, he uses "time" by analogy so his clients can grasp its magnitude. Are you ready for this?
The math:
1 million seconds = 11.5 days.
16 trillion seconds = 507,357 years.
Remember this "time" analogy whenever you hear anyone refer to the national debt, regardless of context.
Feel free to pass this along to your family and friends, too.
