No one is immune from the dangers of elder abuse.
Whether you are rich or poor, you can be a victim of elder abuse.
Even celebrities can be targets.
According to a recent Hollywood Life article titled “Jerry Lee Lewis Sues Daughter For Elder Abuse In Lawsuit: Shocking New Claims,” Jerry Lee Lewis may himself be a victim.
Lewis is a famous musician.
In fact, we still hear his music today.
Those are from Lewis.
Now at age 81, Lewis is suing his son-in-law Ezekial Loftin and daughter Phoebe (from his infamous marriage to cousin Myra Gale Brown) for elder abuse.
Lewis claims Ezekiel stole $5 million to pay for plastic surgery and other luxuries.
He also says he was forced into hazardous living.
They made him stay in a moldy home, gave him psychotropic drugs and cared little for his health.
In fact, Lewis claims he was forced to go on tour while his daughter managed his career from 2000-2012.
Elder abuse may not be this drastic.
It takes many forms.
If you are suspicious of an elder loved one being abused, report it immediately.
