Alzheimer's disease does not care who it hurts.
This world is full of sad things.
Alzheimer’s is one of them.
It steals memories and brings pain to families.
According to a recent Blasting News article titled “Hollywood star Joanne Woodward can't remember husband Paul Newman anymore,” Joanne Woodward is one of its victims.
Joanne began showing signs of Alzheimer’s after her husband Paul Newman died in 2008.
They had been together since 1958.
Apparently, she now has no memories of her time with her husband.
Newman’s children are concerned about her estate planning.
Why?
When Paul died, he left just $5 million to each of his five daughters.
The rest of his billion-dollar estate was left to Joanne and to charity.
The daughters would like to see more of this money passed to them in Joanne’s estate plan.
Only time will tell what choices she made when she created her plan.
Remember: “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” When making your financial, tax and estate plans, do not go it alone. Be sure to engage competent professional counsel.
